Legacy Project

In the Spring of 2021, Northland Recreation Supply was contracted by the Southeast Cornerstone Public School Division to remove and relocate 5 full sized playgrounds and several independent items to the new Legacy Park Elementary School in Weyburn. The equipment was removed from existing schools that were scheduled to be closed at the end of that school year.

The equipment was removed from operating schools during daytime hours. Because of this, the utmost safety and security protocols were diligently followed to ensure the safety of the students and staff. The equipment was dismantled, removed, the cement pilings had to be knocked off the posts, then equipment cautiously loaded onto trailers.

Once the above steps were completed, the Northland crew ensured all rubble and debris were removed and the site was reclaimed to a safe, level condition.

Prior to removal, drawings had to be created to ensure the equipment would be reassembled properly and located in the new areas to comply with current CSA standards.

Pour-in-place rubber surfacing had been installed in the new locations in advance of the relocation project. This made the installation project very meticulous as the holes could not be altered after being drilled without causing significant damage to the pour-in-place surfacing. Our drawings and pile locations had to be precisely measured.

In less than three weeks all the equipment was relocated, and the project was complete. Throughout each step of the installation project, there was zero damage made to the equipment or surfacing. Any of the playground equipment that previously needed repairs were revamped and fitted prior to the grand opening of the school.

A letter of recommendation from the Facilities Operations Supervisor is included below along with pictures of the relocated structures.
